I found this awesome new green business directory called GreenBizLocal.com. This is the best of the green business directories that I have seen on the web. I like it because it gives you straight up results.
If you put “Atlanta” in the location box, it shows you an interactive map with only green businesses in Atlanta. You can even input your address and it will center your location on the map and then populate the map with all of the green businesses withing the specified radius. You can see exactly where the business is located in relation to where you are (or where you set the destination - i.e. hotel, friends house, etc).
GreenBizLocal.com is the first unbiased, location-based green business directory on the internet. I hate how all the other ones are so spammed up with “preferred” listings that may be 2 cities away from where you searched. As an internet marketer, I know how these “corrupt” results happen. Money. They pay the business directory tons of money per month to get at the top of every search. Sure, that extra visibility is good for them and the ad revenues are good for the directory, but you know who it isn’t good for? You, the user. You are the reason that everything is in business; the business and the business guide site. So then, why is your best interest the last priority? Hmmm?
I hope that GreenBizLocal.com will maintain its integrity and continue to provide unbiased relevant results.
